Another fine win for Andy
Moore
Scunthorpe RC 25 - 05/05/2005 - C25/19
Andy Moore recorded another fine win and Andy Lintin finished
in 4th place with Sam Tuplin close behind in 8th spot in the
Scunthorpe 25 on Sunday June 5th over a sporting course in
North Lincolnshire.
Although the day was cool, there was little wind on this
sporting course which started at Riby cross roads, headed
North to Barnetby top roundabout junction with the A180, then
returned to Laceby roundabout before retracing the first section
of the course back past Riby cross roads to finish at Keelby.
The course used the A18 road from Grimsby to Scunthorpe and
is not renowned for being a quick one with much of the road
taking in many undulations and some of them quite steep especially
climbing to Barnetby top roundabout.
With the course being such a sporting one, it made Andy Moores
winning ride even more impressive as he recorded 56 minutes
for the 25 miles which was a massive 2 minutes clear of his
nearest rival in second place. Meanwhile, whilst Andy was
on an obvious flyer, team mate Andy Lintin was struggling
to find his time trialling legs again. With Andy Lintin now
working long hours at work as the summer nights draw out,
Andy is now starting to feel tired which is now effecting
his racing. With all the commitments of work, Andy Lintin
still recorded a time of 1 hour for the 25 miles which was
still good enough for an eventual superb 4th place overall.
Meanwhile Sam Tuplin is continuing his return to form now
he is back from University and although he didnt enjoy the
course, Sam still recorded a good time on a sporting course
to finish in the top 10 placings in 8th position. Sam described
his ride as 'hard and it felt like every simgle direction
was into the wind'.
