Beauvale 25 - 20/08/2005 - Course -
A25/23
Despite suffering mechanical problems near the start,
Andy Moore finished 4th in the Beauvale CC 25 on Saturday
20th August with a brilliant time if 52.28.
Using a revised course that started at Tuxford before
joining the A1 to heads south to North Muskham and then
onto Newark before rejoining the A1 northbound to finish
on the slip road at Tuxford. With the wind blowing strongly
from a northerly direction, the riders had to make the
most of the tailwind start before they headed back into
the strong headwind to the finish.
Although Andy started fast and hard, it was not long
before his front wheel touched his computer sensor on
his front forks and then ripping off the computer completely
leaving it dangling from the front forks. With all this
happening at nearly 40mph, Andy managed to untangle
the computer whilst still riding and placed it inside
his skin suit for the rest of the race.
With this upset in his rhythm now behind him, Andy
set about getting some serious time into his opponents
in this race and despite nearly missing the first turn
off the A1 at North Muskham, he ploughed onto the A46
at Newark before starting the slog back into the wind
to the finish. Still going well at the finish, Andy
crossed the line in a time of 52.28 which would see
him finish 4th overall from a quality field of competitors.
