3 Cherry Valley riders make top 10

Even inform Ian Dalton couldn’t stop the relentless Julian Ramsbottom (Scunthorpe Poly) from taking the Lincs 10 title on Saturday 19th August with a great ride by John Greed pushing Ian into 3rd spot. With Andy Moore just a minute behind Ian in 5th place and Aaron just a further 39 seconds back in 7th, it was a good day out for the Cherry Valley team.

The day of the LRRA event was very windy but the Ingham based course to Harpswell Hill roundabout gave the riders plenty of opportunity for protection from the wind blowing across the course. Andy Lintin, Aaron and Sam were amongst the first of the Cherry Valley riders to start, but it was Aarons older brother Sam who hit misfortune and yet again suffered a puncture in an open event. While Andy Lintins time of 23.53 was well below his best, Aaron was reaping the reward of a good block of training which saw him record a time of 22.42 at the finish line and would be good enough for 7th place.

Next Cherry Valley rider to finish was Andy Moore who hit the finish line in 22.03 and just narrowly missing out on 4th place to ever improving Jim Boyle (Boston Wheelers) who recorded a time of 21.59.

With Gareth a non-starter, Ian was the last Cherry Valley rider to start and despite starting to feel strong again this week he was being held all the way by John Greed (VC Lincoln). At the 7 mile mark, the Lincoln rider was only 1 second down on Ian but John put in a huge effort to take 2 seconds back from Ian by the finish line pushing Ian back into 3rd place with a time of 21.09 behind event winner Julian Ramsbottom 20.46.
