Cherry Valley Team make top
10
Lincoln Wheelers 10 - 20/05/2006 - C10/28 - Ingham, Lincoln
As the rain poured on the riders and temperatures reached
a heady 12C, 40 riders faced a 10 mile course running along
the ‘middle street’ from Ingham top to Harpswell
roundabout and back again, just North of Lincoln. The course,
which undulates slightly and has a rough road surface for
most of its length, is not noted for being a quick course,
so no rapid times were expected as the wind blew a gale across
the exposed course making it difficult riding conditions for
the race.
Highest placed Cherry Valley rider was Andy Lintin who is
now showing some good form as he posted the third best time
of the day of 22.34 only 40 seconds slower than the winner
from VC Lincoln, John Greed. Both Sam and Aaron rode and Aaron
showed he is still making a fine comeback with a solid ride
in 9th place and a time of 23.24. Aaron narrowly beat his
elder brother Sam who has obviously being suffering from the
excesses of University and had picked up a cold the previous
day but still rode and finished 10th with a time of 23.46
ensuring all three Cherry Valley starters finished in the
top 10.
