Three in a row

Lindsey Roads 10 - 11/07/2006 - Limber, North Lincolnshire

A fine warm evening saw Ian Dalton make it three wins in a row as he was supported by top 10 placings for Sam and Aaron Tuplin.

After finishing second to Julian Grommett (Cottingham Couriers) just 2 weeks earlier in the Lindsey Roads 25, Ian was all revved up for some pay back particularly after his under performance in the Scunthorpe 50 just 2 days earlier.

The course started at the top of the incline on the A18 just outside Limber and then headed into a nagging breeze to turn at Laceby roundabout. Once at Laceby, the riders negotiate the roundabout and retrace the course to finish at the foot of the climb to Limber.

First of the Cherry Valley riders to start was Aaron who had recently been struggling with both form and motivation. Despite his recent performances, Aaron stuck at the task in hand and was comfortably within himself at the turn as he powered onto the finish for a great time of 22.48 which would put Aaron 8th overall on the night.

Aarons older brother Sam had come into some good form tonight, but despite his best efforts, Sam couldn't really find the power tonight like he had done just 7 days earlier at Alford. Despite Sam not being on top of his form tonight, he still pulled in a good time of 22.25 for an eventual 6th place.

Last rider to start was Ian and he negotiated the outward leg into the wind with ease and powered out of the roundabout at Laceby with suck force he was clearly on for a good ride. By the turn, Ian had already taken good chunks of time out of Julian Grommett but Ian didn't ease up at all and continued hard to the finish to cross the line as the clear winner in a time of 20.49 which was a comfortable 32 seconds clear of second placed rider Grommett.

1 Ian Dalton (Cherry Valley RT) 20.49
2 Julian Grommett (Cottinghma Couriers) 21.21
6 Sam Tuplin (Cherry Valley RT) 22.25
8 Aaron Tuplin (Cherry Valley RT) 22.48
