Second place for Ian
Rudy Project TT Series Round 6 - 16/09/2006 - Buckinghamshire
In a reverse result from the National TT championships just
a few weeks earlier, Ian Dalton was pushed into second place
in the latest round of the Rudy Project Time Trial series
which is coming to its conclusion over the next few weeks.
The course was based at Botolph Claydon in Buckinghamshire
and was a 10 mile circuit covered twice which included undulating
roads. The entire course was B roads or unclassified roads
and the last quarter of the lap was the hardest turning back
into the wind and had two sharp climbs. The weather was cloudy
but warm with a light wind. And at times it looked as if the
sun would break through but then it would change and look
if it was going to rain.
Ian was pushed back into second place just a handful of seconds
behind Dave Dent (GS Stella) whom he beat 3 weeks earlier.
Not having one of his best days, Ian was surprised to stay
as close to Dent as he did after being 20 seconds down after
the first lap. Ian recovered well on the second lap despite
not feeling strong and only lost a further second to Dent.
