Jon digs deeps to get a result

After a below par performance just 12 hours previously, Jon Surtees (Cherry Valley RT) was hoping for a better result and ride in the Whitewebbs 25 on the A1 in Bedfordshire on Sunday morning 18th June. After returning from the API event the night before, Jon only had 4 hours sleep before tackling the Whitewebbs event on the Sunday morning.

Feeling tired before he even started Jon was soon into his time trialling rhythm over the flatter parts of the course near Baldock in Bedfordshire. However, the lack of sleep and general lethargy Jon had suffered during the week soon caught up with him and over the longer climbs on the A1 he started to suffer and lost speed rapidly.

Despite feeling weak and well below his best, Jon still managed 4th place and a great time of 53.44 for someone who was having a bad day.
