Ians run of good form continues with another win

Boston Wheelers 25 TT - 6/06/2007 - Boston

With the lighter nights comes mid week open events and the Boston Wheelers 25 is usually one of the first in Lincolnshire, unfortunatly this years event was run in dull, cool and overcast conditions. 32 riders faced the time keeper on a course that starts just to the west of Donnington on the A52 and heads to Osbournby roundabout then north on the A15 to Sleaford turning at the Grantham Road roundabout and retracing to finish just short of the start.

Cherry Valley had two riders competing Aaron Tuplin and Ian Dalton, with Aaron competing on his road bike as he awaits his new time trial frame he knew he’d be off his normal pace.

Early pace setter was Malcolm Church - Peterborough CC with time of 1.00.47 which would end up been 5th fastest on the night, Aaron started one minute later and could only manage a disapointing 1.11.55

The first rider to beat the hour was Jim Boyle – Boston Wheelers with a time of 55.32, afterwards Jim commeneted that he’d chosen the wrong type of aero hemet and had to throw it to a marshal on the return leg and had lost vital seconds. Starting five minutes after Jim was team mate Pete Saint and recorded a fine 59.07. Cherry Valley’s Ian Dalton had started five minutes after Pete and was hoping for a better ride than in the prevous weekends national championship event, in the final few miles Ian could see Pete further down the road but was unable to catch him before the finsih line, but still stopped the clock with a 54.38 ride and take first place. The only other rider to get under the hour was Craig Lamb – Alford Wheelers with a 59.52
