Lucky to even walk away...
Boston Wheelers 2up TTT - 18/03/2007 - Boston
With the strong winds of Saturday increasing overnight,
the riders of the Boston Wheelers 2up TTT where in for an
horrendously tough time in the saddle if they were to win
this event on the flat roads in the south of Lincolnshire.
After warming up and careful consideration to his safety,
Ian decided not to ride the race as the extreme tri-bar position
offered little stability in the strong gusts of wind that
were blowing across the course.
Meanwhile, Ians partner for the day Jon, had decided he would
ride the event as a solo rider and took off from the start
at great speed. Unfortunately for Jon, the strong gusts of
wind that Ian feared caught Jon soon after the start and blew
him off his bike at 30mph. Jon landed on the side of the road
in a bloody mess but after a short hospital visit and 10 stitches,
Jon was back on his feet with no serious damage.
