Cherry Valley pair dominate
race
Gainsborough 10 - 26/05/2007 - Ingham, Lincoln
Near perfect condition greated the 56 riders for the Gainsborough
Aegir 10, with the course running along the Lincoln Edge from
Ingham Top to Hemswell and back to Cammeringham, usually the
wind has a major infulance on the race, sweeping accross from
the west and making it hard going one way or rthe other, but
on Saturday the wind was light.
Cherry Valley RT had two riders competing Andy Moore and
Ian Dalton, who would have to be content battleing for the
top placings as with no third rider they were unable to challenge
for a team award.
Early pace setter was James Struthers - Lindsey Roads CC
of number 5 who’s time of 22.01 was going to be hard
to beat by most of the other riders, it was fellow team member
David Robinson with a time of 21.56 that took over the lead
after Rob Watkinson – Doncaster Wheelers had just failed
with a time of 22.05 but this was good enough to win the team
prize with Bradley Johnston (22.06) and Steve Cowlbeck (22.58)
Cherry Valley rider Andy Moore, who’s having one of
his best seasons to date, was the next rider to go fastest
with a time of 21.28. The only rider left who was likely to
better Andy’s time was team mate Ian Dalton, Ian crossed
the finish line to clock a 20.55 ride and give the Cherry
Valley team a one two result.
