National 25 TT Championships
- 03/06/2007 - Merseyside
Coming two weeks after the 10 championship, Southport CC
promoted the ‘blue ribbon’ event of the British
time trial season the 25 mile championship.
The coures had a bit of every thing from quite counrty lanes
to dual carriageways, something for everyone! The first and
last section totaling 10 miles was on ‘B’ roads
and the middle 15 miles was two laps on a fairly quite dual
carriageway. It was this section that everyone expected to
the fastest but the comments afterwards was on how hard it
had been.
Cherry Valley RT only had one rider competing, Ian Dalton.
Ian was hoping the form that had given him 20th place in the
10 mile championship was still there. Ian started well and
was quickly up to race pace on the counrty lanes but also
found it harder going than expected on the dual carriageway
section. On the return leg back to the finish Ian was still
finding it tough going and finished with a time of 55.49 which
was only good enough for 34th place out of the 150 rider event.
The event was won by defending champion Jason MacIntyre –
The Edge RT with a time of 49.44
