2007 Cherry Valley
Racing Team line up |
|
Former Alford Wheeler Andy
Lintin joined Cherry Valley in 1997 and continued
his success at time trialling with several top performances
at most distances. 2005 was one of Andy's best seasons
in years bringing him successes in local time trials
and occasionally beating team mate Ian. After heavy
work commitments which effected Andys mid season performances
in 2005, Andy called it a day in July but still had
his best season for years.

Yet another solid 2005 season
from Lincoln rider Andy Moore . The
former VC Lincoln rider joined Cherry Valley in 1997
after many successful seasons road racing. After a busy
full-time work schedule which also includes a position
as a part-time fireman, Andy produced another superb
time trialling season winning several open events. We
are all looking forward to seeing Andy riding strongly
in 2006.

Ian Dalton had one
of his best seasons ever in 2004 so he was dissapointed
with his 2005 season which saw his inconsistent form
desert him in some important races. The 2005 season
still ended on a high when he succesafully defended
his National Time Trial circuit championship masters
title.

Riding his first season in 2002
after 13 years off the bike, Gareth Williams
has made a promising return to time trialling, achieving
personal best ever performances at both 10 and 25 miles.
After a bad mountain biking accident in the middle of
2004 which saw Gareth miss several months, the winter
months were painful but fruitful and saw Gareth return
to Road Racing in 2005 with immediate success. In 2006,
Gareth will be concentrating on road racing all year.

Richard
Robinson joined Cherry Valley from Alford Wheelers
for the 2005 season with road racing his main discipline.
After missing most of the winter through injury, changing
job midway through the season and also moving house,
2005 was a quiet year for Richard. However, a solid
winter in 05/06 will see Richard back at the top of
his game again in 2006.

Sam Tuplin had a
slow start to the 2005 season. After starting a new
course at University in September 2005, Sam struggled
to find time to train properly over the winter but this
didn't stop Sam keeping his ambitions aimed high. With
a new bike and back home from University, Sam hit a
rich vain of form as his 10 times started to drop rapidly
though the summer weeks. By the middle of the season
Sam had recorded two personal bests in the space of
less than 24 hours.
Sam is aiming high for the 2006 season picking out
the National University Cycling Time Trialling Championships
as his main goals as well as breaking the 20 minute
barrier for a 10 mile time trial.

After a promising start to his
2005 season, which saw Aaron Tuplin
hit a personal best 10 time by early April, his 2005
season was over by May as he was diagnosed with Glandular
Fever. Having only started his winter training in late
January 2006, Aaron will be aiming for a good second
half to his 2006 time trialling season when he has the
confidence to settle back into competition riding.

Jon Surtees brings
his time trialling expertise to Cherry Valley for 2006.
After 4 months in the Falklands at the end of 2001
and beginning of 2002, Jon hit the TT circuit hard and
recorded 4 short 51’s a long 19 and several very
short 20’s and also won the Inter Services 25
title. 2003 was another good year, recording another
51 and a total of 46 top 6 placings with 14 wins and
the Inter Services individual 10/25 title and team once
again. 2004 saw Jon riding for LuK racing.net and pushing
two more 51’s and 25 20 minute 10’s. The
highlight being beating Zak Carr and Sam Barker in a
2 up and pushing out 53:43 at the gail swept Boston
Wheelers 2 up.
2005 was a year for the short distances where Jon went
below 20 minutes once again and had 4 more rides under
20:10.
Jons future is now with Cherry Valley where he joins
forces with Ian, Andy Moore, Andy Lintin, Sam and Aaron.
In Lincolnshire, the team should dominate in just about
every event they choose to ride.
